PROBLEM: Ballistic material. This loose weave nylon will eventually snag and unravel causing seam failures and problems with the RE valve attachment and OP valves. Quick fix hot glue reinforcement patches will separate. EAGLE Z1 SOLUTION: Eagle Z1 uses the super tight weave 1000d Cordura material with an inner coating to prevent break down. It does not unravel, snag, or have the typical seam failure problems. A much stronger fabric!
PROBLEM: Most buoyancy products still use the cheap plastic cam buckles on the cylinder strap. These will crack in time and fail under stress, or though unfortunate accident making the BCD useless during your vacation. EAGLE Z1 SOLUTION: Eagle Tec & Twin Wing models use solid Stainless Steel that will never break. Stainless steel cam buckles are optional on the Eagle Z1 Travel model BCD's to reduce the airline travel weight.
PROBLEM: Most BCD wings cause massive drag as they flap around, and will drag and snag on obstacles when diving in wreck and caves. This can expose the air cell to puncture, and rips and tears causing buoyancy failure. EAGLE Z1 SOLUTION: Elastic wing retractors built into the BCD. This simple low drag device always keeps the wings in tight to your body with nothing to trap air, and it reduces the air cell exposure to snags and puncture.
PROBLEM: Mesh insert weight pockets $36.00, lumbar comfort pad $32.00, are all extra cost options. EAGLE Z1 SOLUTION: The Eagle models DO NOT require the mesh pocket inserts because of the superior weight retention system, and the lumbar pad and Mini cargo pocket is all included at no additional charge.
PROBLEM: The expensive Zeagle Ranger LTD & Ranger models only provide 44 pounds of positive lift. EAGLE Z1 SOLUTION: Z1 offers 48 pounds of lifting force holding you higher at the surface for resting.
PROBLEM: Many Zeagle System products such as the Ranger, LTD, and Concept still utilize the silly single speed Ripcord parachute style weight release system. This only provides the diver with one scary option: Eject all or none of your ballast weight. Ditching all of you weight will cause an uncontrolled positive buoyant ascent. Every certified diver already knows that any rapid uncontrolled ascent can cause serious injury to unskilled divers during an emergency. Furthermore, once all those ballast weights have been ejected, they cannot be recovered and replaced into the weight retaining pockets while the diver is still wearing the BCD. EAGLE Z1 SOLUTION: Eagle Z1 uses a 2 speed 50% + 50% integrated safe ballast weight design. Ditched weights can be instantly replaced inside the BCD by the diver while he is still wearing the BCD.
